SenateSHJ’s work recognised at Australia’s top public relations industry awards

Three SenateSHJ campaigns were recognised with national awards this week at the national Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) Golden Target Awards in Adelaide.

SenateSHJ received awards in the healthcare organisation, community relations and pro-bono categories of the Golden Target Awards which recognise excellence in public relations.

These awards are great recognition for our clients and the SenateSHJ team said Sydney Partner and General Manager, Nerida Thorburn.

“We are incredibly proud of these campaigns, the smart thinking that was behind them, and the great results they achieved.

“We are privileged to work with fantastic clients on important issues that impact the lives of many Australians and these awards are the icing on the cake,” she said.

The Sydney team was highly commended in the health organisations category for its Meningococcal Awareness Campaign which responded to research showing that a high percentage of Australian parents were aware but uninformed about the disease and most did not realise that vaccines do not offer complete protection.

SenateSHJ worked with Meningococcal Australia to develop and execute the ‘1 July’ awareness campaign with the support of Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics.

In the low cost/bono category of the PRIA awards the team was commended for its Talk Into Action campaign for professional member organisation Executive Women Australia. SenateSHJ built a media profile for EWA from scratch and used its growing membership to better influence key stakeholder groups, attracting significant media attention in the process.

In the community relations category SenateSHJ was commended for its work with The Australian Medicines Industry on a campaign titled Medicines Milestones/Facing the Health of Australians.

The campaign cemented the importance of the medicines industry in the minds of Australians and generated enough media interest to reach almost 10 million people.

These commendations follow a string of awards for SenateSHJ in 2013. The Australian Medicines Industry campaign has already won a PRIME healthcare award for Corporate Social Responsibility and a NSW Golden Target Award.

The EWA campaign took out an Asia-Pacific Gold Sabre Award and was also highly commended at the NSW Golden Target Awards. The Meningococcal Australia campaign was also highly commended at the NSW Golden Targets.
